Need guttering and down pipes sorted « Posted: 21 November 2010 at 05:16 PM »

Our guttering is reasonable, but the drop is wrong. We need someone to adjust the levels and probably add an extra down pipe, because our semi-detached house has only two downpipes.

Recommendations anyone?

If you add an extra downpipe which you should not need to do. You will have to add extra undeground drains or a soakaway. Is your house very big?

Not large at all really, but a hip roof means the guttering is on all sides. It's a semi-detached house with only one down pipe in each back garden.
In heavy rain, the water pours over the corner near our front door. If the levels were sorted out, I think an extra downpipe would not be required. I need an expert to get his spirit level on the job. Wink

Recommended fall is 6mm over 1000mm so the fall is not that great and can be done with the aid of a chalk line and some math.
The felts at the eves of the roof should also lay int the gutter in a way that there is no "blocking" of flow from rain.
one of the things I would ask would be have you cleared the gutter out and is the stop end fitted firmly.
