I Love Lowestoft!

Digitization of old historic pictures at the Library « Posted: 13 October 2010 at 05:20 AM »

Hello:

I live in the Province of Ontario, Canada, but I have been using this site for a long time because I was doing some family history research and my Grandmother was born in Lowestoft and found this to be a wonderful site.

Resently in our little rural town, there was a newspaper article about the local libary inviting people to bring in their old photographs, artifacts, certificates etc and they will digitize them and put them on the Our Ontario website
http://search.ourontario.ca/search

I was wondering if there is any such initiative at Lowestoft Library or in the Cty of Suffolk?
If not ..... perhaps someone should suggest it.

It is certainly a good idea Searcher and I am sure although not positive that our library has a similar initiative. I know some of our members on here are keen users of the library as a source of information when they are researching family histories.
