Another FA Cup weekend this Saturday, Lowestoft travel south to just below the River Thames to play Dartford, at their new stylish ground, Princes Park.

Last seasons, Dartford were in the league Lowestoft are currently in and won it comfortably. Irt will be quite a test but I think Lowestoft can win it.

I'll be travelling there tomorrow on the supporters coach.

Half time at Dartford, no goals yet but a very good fast paced game so far.

We lost 2 1 but it was very tight at the end. Never mind it would have been good to win but we can now consentrate on the league.

Just got back home and im shattered! Lowestoft lost 2-1 but were very unlucky not to at least get a draw, if we were at home for this match then im sure we would have won it. Really nice ground with friendly supporters I hope I get the chance to go there again.

I took a few pictures too which i'll upload later, its a bit late to be doing all that now! Had a nice pint (or 2) at the Triangle on way home too, great day all round apart from the result.

Article on EDP website;

Despite going down to an odd goal of three defeat at Blue Square South Dartford, Lowestoft managers Micky Chapman and Ady Gallagher were full of praise for their squad who had looked the better side for large spells of this FA Cup tie.

Lowestoft fielded the same starting line up that had played so well at Billericay during the week but were able to welcome back both Stuart Ainsley and Lee McGlone after injury amongst the substitutes.

There was a tentative opening by both sides with a blustering wind causing a few problems. The first shot of the game fell to Dartford as Dale Cockrill was caught in possession allowing Ryan Hayes to advance before firing a shot over the bar.

An excellent build up in midfield for Lowestoft saw Andrew Fisk and Dale Cockrill combine to feed Jamie Forshaw who went past Paul Goodacre but saw his shot turned round the post by the diving Andrew Young.

Adam Smith's excellent run down the left and cross to the near post saw Michael Shinn just beat Danny Bloomfield to the ball at the expense of a corner. Dartford's Ryan Hawes sent in a curling cross-cum-shot from the right which Andy Reynolds stretched to palm away from the top corner.

The game turned Dartford's way in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. Firstly Adam Gross' cross into the area caused confusion before the Blues scrambled the ball away for a corner. However from the resultant flag kick Carl Rook stooped to plant a close range header into the net.

Lowestoft were on the back foot now and a quickly taken free kick from Hayes saw Rook head wide from close range. Curtis Haynes-Brown's excellent tackle thwarted Elliot Bradbrook before Dartford added a second goal in the 54th minute. Gross' long throw from the left fell to Danny Harris who spun and scored from 10 yards.

Rather than demoralising the Blues those setbacks galvanised Lowestoft as they pounded the home defence. Jamie Forshaw slipped the ball to Joe Francis who raced through the home defence but saw his shot beat Andrew Young only to rebound out off the post.

Dale Cockrill picked up the ball 30 yards out but his shot appeared to be destined for the top corner before Young got his fingers to the ball to turn it over the bar.

Andrew Fisk was then inches wide from 25 yards. Lowestoft got the goal they deserved in the 81st minute. Dale Cockrill released Lee McGlone who took the ball round keeper Young but from a narrow angle his shot hit the post with Cockrill following up to hit the rebound into the net.

Greg Crane was fouled on the edge of the area as the Blues pushed everyone forward but Adam Smith's direct free kick scraped the outside of the post. In the final minute Crane's header from Francis' cross beat keeper Young but was hacked off the line by Gross denying the Blues a last gasp equaliser.

Dartford: Young, Bonner, Gross, Bruce, Goodacre, Shinn, Hayes (Sub White 78), Champion, Rook, Burns (Sub Harris 41), Bradbrook (Sub Noble 62), Subs (not used) Sheringham, Medlen, Burman, Whitehouse.

Lowestoft: Reynolds, Cave-Brown, A Smith, Cockrill, Gaughran, Haynes-Brown, Godbold (Sub Francis 53), Fisk, Forshaw (Sub Crane 81), Bloomfield (Sub McGlone 53), Mitchell, Subs (not used) Bussens, Halliday, Ainsley, P Smith
