I remember Hugh Lees.I also remember my dad telling me about a tombstone in St Margaret's church yard.I can't remember if me and my friend Ann ever found it when we went looking for it.
As you are-so was I.
As I am now-so shall you be,
So be prepared to follow me.

Hi Malcolm:
I'd be very interested in having a copy of the Hugh Lees book that you mention. Can you let me know when they are available. My memory tells me that I have heard about it before but can't recollect reading it. I believe you know where I live !!! (No.2). I must have a stroll around St.Margaret's churchyard again one day - I've done it many times. I'm one of those odd people who likes reading old tombstones!!!! My wife's parents and paternal/maternal grandparents are all buried there.

I had a good look round the inside of St Margaret`s church when I was home last time, and saw the name of my mum`s first husband P Rouse, he was killed in the first world war in France, it was strange seeing that , it`s a lovely church, and I didnt know it was that old, just read it was one of the first built, and my nephew used to be a choir-boy there.

Put a sock in it... or if you haven't got a sock a cat will do.
From the Lowestoft Carnival of 2004.
(not a real cat I hasten to add!)

Nah - that's not a cat - it's the rear-end of a Davy Crockett Hat! ;D3
Probably used to quieten the sound . . . .
