Funny & Curious Lowestoft. « Posted: 07 September 2010 at 09:53 PM »

Well the title says it all, but just to explain, the idea of this thread is to be somewhere for those pictures or stories that show Lowestoft in a funny haha or funny curious light.  I'll put some example to show what I mean then hopefully people will have some of their own to add.

Tell you what Joe why don't you start a topic then you can call it anything you like Grin  and I can critisize it  Grin

You're on, & this is my response. hello

An example of funny haha was here where someone decided to park a whole load of bikes on this one stand.  The roof behind them looks a bodge job too!  Top of London Road North.

Now some examples of funny curious.  This strange boat visited Lowestoft several years back.  It was, to my knowledge, perfectly square & rode on submerged pontoons, something to do with avoiding fishing regulations, I believe.  But it was horribly unstable & would only go backwards.  I love it when strange ships or boats come to Lowestoft.

The Captain's House, Queen's Road, Lowestoft.  Built for a sea captain long before all the other terraced houses were here, because he wanted to see the sea from his house.
