The silver darlings have made a come back and are plentiful. I love em but they have gone out of fashion. Probably caused by the ban on catching them in the seventies.

Does anyone remember the Herring drifter "Merbreeze" LT365. My father was a stoker aboard her in the early 50's. My mother came from a village in Scotland called Gardenstown. I was born and lived at 52 Ashley Downs until i was 8 and i went to Northfield Primary School. I am now 63. My parents then left Lowestoft and settled in Gardenstown where my mothers brothers owned their own fishing boats. My father name was Lenny Oldman. Can anyone in the Lowestoft area shed anymore light on the Merbreeze and any piccies would be much appreciated. If more personal info is required please ask. Thanks in advance
