Whats on TV?
« Posted: 14 August 2010 at 09:52 PM »
I thought it would be interesting to start A new thread on what we like to watch on TV, perhaps share some hidden gem programmes we watch that others may be intertested in but never know existed, especially with the zillion or so channels that seem to exist nowadays.
Admittedly I dont watch much TV but I find programs I do watch tend to be on obscure channels. For instance i've been watching Wallander on BBC4, the scandinavian version with subtitles and honestly its the best detective drama i've seen, a rollercoaster of emotions. The sky at night is brilliant too, sadly only once a month, again on BBC4 (or is it BBC3?) very educational and user friendly to those who maynot know much about astronomy, great to see sir Patrick Moore still going strong along with his cats!
On more familiar channels im looking forward to the new series of Merlin on Saturday evenings on BBC1. Im sad Robin hood has ended I really enjoyed that when that was running. I also confess to a bit of Doctor Who...

Good topic. For a start can we get the bbc to put The League Show on before Match Of The Day. Its a much better programme.

You can only issue a Yellow card being a Norwich supporter, Malcolm. Being Liverpool I can issue you a
RED
card. Touche!
Strange how these threads soon divert from the the original theme ?!

I seldom watch TV as I find there is just too much 'canned laughter' on the programs
I have my opinion of what I think is funny and so do not require a prompt from the TV when there is a supposedly funny part. it drives me to distraction.
I do watch the box but it will have a film or a documentary running.
I'll watch this thread with interest though

I enjoy documentaries, nature programmes - last week’s on the Sea Otters was fascinating! I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes three programmes and look forward to the next series. Like James, I’ll be looking forward to the new series of Merlin - didn’t like it when it first started, but it “grew on me”. And some of the Proms Concerts have been most enjoyable - especially the Sondheim one - and I’m looking forward to the Rogers & Hammerstein concert later this month.
