We took a drive out to Kerri's Pines at Reepham yesterday stopping to have a look round and having a scone and a cup of coffee,on the way back took the scenic route to show sister in law from NZ the St Michael the Archangel Church at Booton (Birth place of Stephen Fry I believe)
The second photo was just above the entrance door.
The third photo was taken looking across the fields from outside the Booton church using the zoom,it a church that looks so plain compared with the grand looking Booton church. I have no idea what this church is called,no doubt some day I will find out.

The second church looks as though they failed to finish building the tower.

Message update:
10:05pm   Just been visiting this church courtesy of Google streetview.  I guess it is St Agnes at Cawston.

Thanks Gaz,I expect you are right BB I was pointing the camera in that direction, think I shall give it a look as it seems so vastly different compared with the Booton church which is almost looks Cathedral like.

Went out for a short while this afternoon, mostly cloudy and the sun did coem out a bit here and there but always very blustery. Took the following picture along the back roads towards Ellough, a roadside pond by a farmers field with pleanny of wild flowers around the edge.

This is a Brown Argus butterly, saw about 6 in the same place in the end. Very good considering its one thats thought to be struggling a bit recently due to intensive farming and not enough wild areas and too much rural grass verge cutting too. Didn't take any others due to weather and not much showing.

Nice photo james, seems to be a few more butterflies about this year, funny you should mention cutting the grass verges as I remarked to my wife the other day it seems they are only cutting a couple of feet in from the road and letting the rest go wild which I rather like especially for the insect life.

Hi SB, cutting the grass near the road is what they should be doing but all too often i see along straight country roads, verges 10ft wide on both sides being cut, right up to the hedge which is a pointless waste of time and waste for wildlife. I dont see it everywhere I go so im not sure if its the local council or farmers responsible.

The land i took the picture on is farmed by a birding friend and he's signed up to the countryside Stewardship scheme, and he leaves an 8ft margin around all his fields for wildlife in return for a government grant, also gets funds to maintain hedges for wildlife. It was near a pond too and there were some dragonflies.

Post Mill at South Walsham taken shortly after this morning's misty sunrise.  (pity about the telephone/power cables).
