Kirkley and Pakefield Football Club « Posted: 02 May 2010 at 07:56 PM »

Whilst im not a fan of the Royals, I thought it would be good to have a thread on our other 'main' football club in the town. If anyone goes to see them regularly then like in the LTFC thread maybe some match news can be posted.

As it stands they are 2 leagues below Lowestoft town in the non league football pyramid, The Ridgeons league is known as 'Step 5' in the grand scale of things.

Take a look at their website if you're ever bored!

The bored remark was only light hearted, most people on this website id imagine dont give a damn about football most probably.

Nowadays some Lowestoft fans still go and see Kirkley play when Lowestoft are not at home (and vice versa) but not just as much recently as things off the field haven't gone go too well since the Suffolk Premier cup match between the 2 sides last November. Im not sure of the definant true story but it was something to do with the 'weakened' team Lowestoft put out for that match.

Lowestoft put out their reserve side as they had a FA Cup Qualifying game away at Gloucester on the Saturday after the SPC  on the wednesday.

Think the rivalry goes on a bit beyond that though Smiley

It sure does, healthy rivalry hopefully Wink
I havent noticed as many K&P followers coming to watch Lowestoft this season, as they did when we were in the Ridgeons, perhaps they are just jealous   Grin
