Wanted: New cooker or gas/electric repairer « Posted: 15 January 2010 at 07:05 PM »

Anyone got suggestions for a good cooker source round Lowestoft?  Our existing monster has cooked it's own circuits so we want something normal ( halogen hob / dual oven preferred ) to take it's place

Lowestoft Electrical are very good - get most of our electrical appliances from them. I think they do repairs too.

Not really local but I actually bought my cooker from a clearance auction web site from the electrical retailer "Comet". You bid for the goods (similar to ebay) which may or may not be slightly damaged, but more usually it's just the packaging that's damaged. I don't recall the exact price I paid for my cooker but I know that I won the item for less than half of the full price! See HERE for their website.

Thank you all for your suggestions.   If everything goes according to plan we' ll have the new cooker running by this weekend.  I hope Chris can help us.  Do you have his phone # to hand?  I've googled but not found it.

I popped in to Chriscott today.  They only do electrical appliances, not electrical installations or gas work.  They did give me the name of a gas fitter they trust.
In the meantime we contacted that rarest of specialists .. a dual certified gas and electrical fitter who will come round Friday, we hope, to disconnect the gas and wire up the new cooker.  If we're happy we'll post his details.
