Oulton Broad at New Year
« Posted: 18 November 2009 at 03:15 PM »
Hello Everybody
We are six not quite senior citizens who will be holidaying on the Broads from Boxing Day to Jan 2. We were wondering if anybody could recommend somewhere at Oulton Broad for New Years Eve. Live music and real ale would be a bonus.
best regards
Roy

Broadland Holiday Village is right by Nicholas Everitt park, Hoseasons do book there. If its just somewhere to eat and drink for the night then there are a lot of pubs that are very welcoming, such as Red Herring, The Commodore in particular.

"The Lady of the Lake" is a great place to go in my opinion in Bridge Road, Oulton Broad. They serve real ale, excellent food (not just bar food) and also have live bands on many occasions.
I don't know what the particular events are for New Years Eve but you could always give them a call.
Details about the pub can be found
HERE
Their details are:-

Thanks everybody for the info. We will be on a boat so accommodation isn't a problem. Probably my best bet would be to give the Lady of the Lake and other pubs a ring a couple of weeks before Christmas and find out whats on.
Cheers

Hi, it's entirely up to you of course but if I were you and serious about wanting to get in to one of these places on New Years Eve, I would call them now. Mostly New Years Eve events are ticketed and they usually sell out weeks in advance! Have fun
