Hello, im trying to find out the history of kelly pain court st margerets road lowestoft.All i know that it used to be a childrens home and it was built in 1929.ive only seen two old photo's in my book that only shows the windmill next to mill cottage.if anyone has any photo's or knows the history of this nice old house.i would be very happy

Yep. quite right Meryl. I used to go to (Then Called) Northfield Infant School in the 70's, and I had two friends who lived there (Chaye & Tilly). If memory serves me well, It closed in the early to mid 80's to be converted into flats and houses built behind it.  wave

What we commonly refer to as Northfields School is more properly also known as Northfield St Nicholas Primary School, of course.

Yes I remember St Nicolas Childrens Home and seeing the childrens playing in the grounds I was an only child and I can remember it seeming ratherattractive to me  so many friends to play with, of course the major fact that they didnt have parents seemed lost onb me at that point of time

I remember St Nicholas childrens home in the 70's.  My sister and I used to take some of our Easter eggs there each year, we got so many from Aunts and Uncles.

It seemed a lovely place, a girl who I used to go to Brownies with lived there too.

thank you all for your help.now i know a little more thankyou Smiley the person i now and her sister lived there way befor i was born.think they lived there around the early 60s.
