Helicopters coming to Battery green
26 April 2008 at 08:05 AM by Georgey
I thought it was a joke byt planning permission is being applied for to build an aircraft hangar and a helicopter landing pad somewhere in Battery Green.I'm sure its most appropriate for one of the councils conservation areas but wonder what it will be used for. To fly customers in for the Hippodrome bingo perhaps? Is it to beat the car park charges or for customers for the new marina? Anyone else any ideas?

Free parking in Lowestoft
22 April 2008 at 07:38 AM by Georgey
As the charges for the council car parks rise, there are still places you can park for free in the town. 1.Asda,you can stop for three hours. 2.Aldi on commercial road.Usually a dozen or more cars stop overnight. 3.Godfreys.During the day there's an attendant but at night it's popular with people going to the bingo and theatre. 4.Behind Notleys. No signs up and cars parked there most of the day. Anyone else got any suggestions?.

How can Lowestoft Improve.
16 April 2008 at 02:25 PM by Georgey
I wonder,if you were in charge and given say £10 million to spend, how you would try and make Lowestoft better?. Me,I'd like to see the Beach made into an area where kids could bathe safely, maybe a paddling area, ice cream stalls and punch and judy on the beach, donkey rides.the stuff that we used to see.It can't be much fun coming hear with kids as there's little to attract them other than overpriced amusements. I'm sure there'd be change left from the £10 million to forget about selling off the Noth Denes and instead turn it into a area of open land, something that this area has so little of.Maybe a pond, some trees and a playground, and to guarantee it will never be built on. Ps.and rip down that awful fence around the docks and the new marina,it looks like something from Alcatraz.

First Impressions
04 April 2008 at 10:09 PM by Saint George
We had a few friends come up from London today on the train to stay for a few days. As I always drive down to London three times a week I've never really taken much notice of the Station. When our friends arrived at our house the first thing they mentioned was the rundown look of the area around the Station. With all the Euro cash spent on the Sunrise scheme why wasn't any money spent on this area?
