xx Norwich City announce increases in season ticket prices
20 January 2012 at 10:26 PM by JollyJapes
Norwich City announce increases of around 10pc in season ticket prices for 2012-13 campaign

Norwich City have this afternoon announced season ticket prices for the 2012-13 season, with an increase of around £2.50 per match for standard adult tickets.  The price of an adult ticket in The Barclay stand and Thorpe Corner, known as The Snake Pit, has risen by £47.50 to £471, an increase of just over 10pc.  Over-75 seats in the same areas - all calculated at the first opportunity to buy, before a deadline of Sunday, February 26 - have risen by £28.50 to £277, 65+ and under-21 seats have risen by the same amount to £310 and £201.50 respectively and under-12 seats have risen by £19 to £112.50.

The adult, over-75 and 65+ tickets are exactly the same in the family areas in the Norwich and Peterborough Stand, Aviva Community Stand and Wensum Corner.  However, under-21 prices in these three areas have increased by £68.50 to £201.50 - one of the largest increases at around 34pc - and the under-16 and under-12 prices have both risen £19, to £80.50 and £55.50 respectively.

The season tickets go on sale from tomorrow morning, ahead of Paul Lambert’s side’s latest Premier League home clash, against Chelsea (12.45pm).  The club have confirmed that no new season tickets will be offered as they are capped at 22,000, of a stadium which now holds 26,816 and is almost always sold out.  Full details of the season tickets are due to arrive in the post to current holders from tomorrow morning.

xx New disability swimming sessions starting in Lowestoft this month
06 January 2012 at 11:23 AM by Optua
Hi everyone - just posting this on behalf of Optua. We're a local charity and we're launching new ‘Big Splash’ sessions for people with disabilities at the refurbished Lowestoft Leisure Centre from the end of January 2012.

The sessions will run every Friday from 1pm to 2pm. The sessions will be launching on Friday 20th January – a week before the leisure centre’s open weekend from the 27th to 29th to officially open the new facilities.

Big Splash sessions give people with disabilities the chance to swim or learn to swim at an accessible swimming pool, supported by staff and volunteers.  The aim is to make it easier for disabled people to learn to swim or do it more regularly. Big Splash sessions are open to anyone with a disability of any age and are also open to anyone recovering from an accident or with a long term health condition.

Optua will also be running a Disability Sport Showcase Day at the Leisure Centre on Saturday 24th March which will give people with disabilities a chance to have a go at a wide range of Paralympic and disability sports so if you are disabled or know someone of any age who is - then please put this date in your diary or please call Graeme Anderson on 01473 836770 for more details about the event or the swimming sessions. Thanks!

xx BBC Sports Personality 2011
02 December 2011 at 06:19 PM by malcolm
Of the ten final names going forward to be voted BBC Sports Personality Of The Year not one woman appears on the list. Whats gone wrong? Are the women just not good enough.

I think they are good enough but the system of using sports magazine editors is wrong. I wont be watching this year and think the programme has been devalued.
